Winning artworks will be exhibited in Singapore and Beijing.
Are you an aspiring photographer with a flair for creativity and a thirst for adventure?
Or maybe you’re looking for a unique experience that lets you capture the spirit of our times?
If you happen to be aged between 15 and 22, this might be your moment to shine.
From now to Jun. 10, 2025, the Singapore Good Soil Foundation is hosting an international photography competition in collaboration with the Inter Art Center/Gallery.
Through the theme “Witnessing the Present”, the competition aims to encourage young people to showcase how they observe the world around them.
Through the competition, the foundation hopes to spark meaningful conversations about cultural diversity, social justice, environmental sustainability, and community resilience.
“By inviting young photographers to visually document and share the experiences and challenges of their generation, the initiative not only captures critical insights but also fosters empathy, stimulates dialogue, and encourages collective action among audiences,” they said.
Dedicated to nurturing young creative talent, the organisation invites young photographers to capture today’s dynamic world through their lenses.
The competition is open to any nationality aged between 15 and 22.
First-place winners will go home with a S$4,000 cash prize.
Second and third-place winners will bag S$2,000 and S$1,000 cash prizes, respectively.
Winners will also embark on a four-day overseas volunteering and learning journey during the summer vacation, guided by renowned educators.
Not only will winning works be featured in professional exhibitions in Singapore and at the Inter Art Center/Gallery in Beijing, China, but the works will also be included in a photograph book for worldwide distribution.
Here’s how you can take part in the competition:
Applicants should note that AI-generated and previously awarded photos are not allowed for submission.
By submitting, applicants also grant the foundation the right to use them in exhibitions and publications.
After all the works are reviewed by the judges, 30 collections will be shortlisted.
The final winners will be announced by a panel of judges comprising internationally renowned photographers, curators, cultural scholars, and entrepreneurs.
